Solar Decathlon China 2018 (SDC2018) is co-sponsored by the U.S. Department of Energy and China National Energy Administration, organized by China Overseas Development Association and supported by the School Department of the Central Committee of the Communist Youth League. 22 teams consisting of 38 schools from 10 countries and regions will be competing in Dezhou, Shandong Province in 2018. Government leaders, industry association leaders, academic experts and exhibition representatives gathered to witness the opening ceremony of SDC 2018. They discussed how to promote green development by means of interdisciplinary and innovative education, industry-university-research cooperation and other ways.

Peking University adopts the integrated design method of photovoltaic landscape and architecture. Shanghai University of Engineering Science brings the work "Dancing Sunlight", according to the staff of the competition: "Dancing Sunlight" makes full use of solar hot water system, can not only heat the indoor radiator, but also provides hot water and cook food without gas. Instead, it USES electromagnetic furnace that is heated rapidly. The alternating current is output by Ginlong Solis‘s photovoltaic inverter, which not only saves energy but also reduces the emission of carbon dioxide, so as to achieve energy self-sufficiency and meet the requirements of photovoltaic power generation system and hot water system.
