- an increase Efficiency/Production of +/- 10%
The WES18 is
a well-known Dutch 80 kWatt wind turbine. This high yielding
wind turbine,
is the result of hundreds years Dutch experience with windmills. The combination of
variable speed, a mechanical passive blade pitching system and a
hinged blade mounting system is unique in the world. This combination makes it a very reliable turbine for use in both weak and strong grids.
The
WES18 is a sturdy and user-friendly wind turbine. It is characterised
by:
• easy
maintenance
• high
reliability
• easy
installation, even at hard to reach locations
• low
loads on the gearbox and shaft
• the
AC/DC/AC principle which allows the turbine to follow the grid
current
• mechanical
passive blade pitch and active yaw
The
WES18 turbines can be erected using a relative small crane or even
without. In that case only a tilt-up tower and a truck or heavy tractor is needed.
Over
500 WES18 wind turbines have been installed world-wide, at many different
types of locations. Many agricultural businesses consider this as
the ideal money-saving instrument. You can
easily erect the WES18 at any location near a house, farm or village
and connect it to the grid. The WES18 is especially suitable for:
•
farmers & isolated businesses
• diesel
generator users
• small
electricity grids
• isolated/island communities
The
WES18 starts producing electricity at wind speed of 3 m/s and
is already economical feasible with an average wind speed of 5
m/s. At an average wind speed of 7 m/s (moderate breeze). A WES18
wind turbine can produce up to 200.000 kWh per year.*

This wind turbine can generate an
income by selling the produced electricity to the utility company.
Especially when you have a few of these turbines, the CO2 carbon credits can be an attractive addition to your income. The most favorable way to generate income is by consuming the electricity
yourself and sell the excess to the utility company. This
system of net metering is common in many countries.
The WES18 is exceptionally well equipped to be used together with
a diesel generator in a wind/diesel hybrid system. The WES18 provides
you with clean and cheap electricity and the diesel generator secures
the power for those moments when there is not enough wind.
Wind turbines are one way to decrease electricity costs: with the ever-increasing electricity and diesel prices, the WES18 can reduce these costs by 30 – 60%! *

Life
Expectancy & Cost / kWh
With a life expectancy of at least 20 years and an average wind
speed of 6,5 m/s, your cost per kWh will be 8 Euro cent!
